YJL, the Juilliard-trained cellist and composer, is stepping into a new chapter of her career, unveiling a sound that bridges the traditional and the contemporary. With a bold blend of cinematic string arrangements and K-pop-driven energy, she is carving out a space where classical precision meets modern production.

A graduate of both The Juilliard School in New York and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris—on full scholarship—YJL brings elite classical training to a globally influenced sonic identity. Based in Seoul, and fluent in English, French, and Korean, she channels her multicultural background into a cross-genre vision aimed at listeners around the world.

Her upcoming self-composed collection, crafted entirely using Logic Pro, includes eight new tracks—“New Day,” “Sky,” “Soft Star,” “Jazz On,” “Je T’aime,” and “Vibe”—each presenting a vibrant mix of emotion, melody, and visual storytelling. Accompanied by two completed music videos, the project reflects what she calls a “cello + K-pop fusion with emotional storytelling,” infusing heartfelt musicality with forward-thinking pop aesthetics.

Critics have long recognized YJL’s classical brilliance, with Das Orchester praising her “great ease and sensitivity” and The Strad noting her “technical flawlessness and rich sound.” Now, she is turning that acclaim toward a broader creative platform.

In addition to her own compositions, YJL recently collaborated on “Familiar Classics,” working alongside a Netflix comedian, a Forbes-featured pianist, and celebrated Juilliard alumni. With a warm, approachable persona and a fearless approach to creativity, she is poised to resonate deeply with global audiences across cultures and genres.
