True to Becky G’s known activism, “Sorry Papi” lands as a confident female empowerment anthem, built around a playful refusal to perform for anyone but yourself.
The track arrives hot on the heels of Topic’s last month’s release “Missing You” with Shimza and A7S (UMG) – a cross-genre collaboration that reunited him with his long-time vocal partner A7S while pushing his signature melodic sound into Afro-tech territory. “Sorry Papi” marks the next chapter in that trajectory, this time pairing Topic’s production with a multiplatinum recording artist for a track sung entirely in Spanish.
