Nigerian afro-dancehall artist Mightyyout has officially released his long-awaited debut EP ‘Mightyyard‘, an electrifying project that reflects his journey from the streets of Port Harcourt to the global stage. The Lagos-based talent, signed to Davido Music Worldwide, delivers a vibrant collection of seven tracks that blend dancehall energy with the pulse of afrobeats and the grit of Lagos life.
Teased over the past year with fan-favourite singles like ‘Wetin Dey Sup’, ‘I’m With You’, and ‘Paradise’, the EP has already sparked interest across digital platforms with over two million combined streams. These previews set the tone for what is now a fully realized introduction to Mightyyout’s world – one where resilience and rhythm coexist.
The inspiration behind ‘Mightyyard’ is deeply personal. Born in Rivers State, Mightyyout endured a near-fatal attack and later survived a severe motor accident, which led to an eight-month recovery on crutches. These life-altering experiences fuel the EP’s themes of survival, hope, and creative freedom.

A defining aspect of his recording process involves working in complete darkness, a ritual he describes as, “No lights. No eyes. Just me, the mic, and whatever spirit shows up.” From a catalog of over 500 tracks, Mightyyout chose seven that encapsulate his spirit and sonic identity.
With collaborators like Oracle and Wondavii behind the boards, and powerful guest features from Davido and Popcaan, the project showcases Mightyyout’s ability to balance club-ready heat with soul-stirring introspection. The closing song, ‘Story’, stands out as a raw reflection of faith and endurance.
Reflecting on the project, Mightyyout shares, “This EP means the world to me. It’s happiness for my friends and family who’ve been listening to these records with me for years. Most importantly, it means freedom…”
‘Mightyyard’ is not just a debut – it’s a declaration. With an expanding global audience and a firm grasp on his roots, Mightyyout sets the tone for a powerful new chapter.
