Rising R&B artist Gabrielle Current releases her brand new EP ‘Virgo and unveils new single Serenity

On the new EP Virgo, Gabrielle delivers captivating retro sounds, soulful production, and raw relatable lyrics across the 5-track EP. From beginning to end, each song pulls at the heartstrings as she navigates the highs and lows of life. Unrestricted by genre and pop traditions, Current brings refreshing vulnerability with each release as she welcomes listeners into her world of discovery and empowerment.

The EP makes a statement with opener “Make It Right” while “Plenty” focuses on the struggles of toxic relationships. “Down The Line” highlights the hardship of letting go and If I Fall provides permission to process and re-evaluate. The EP closes out with “Serenity,” serving almost as an epiphany for the blossoming artist once she comes to terms with her experiences and newfound independence. Ultimately, the EP—created with Austin Brown (Hablot Brown)Mark Pelli (Sabrina Claudio, Jennifer Lopez), and Charlie Perry (Jorja Smith, BTS)—replays like a sonic diary for all of us trying to figure out the meaning of life and our place in this world.

Crafting her own content since 2016, the 24-year-old has honed her skills and earned collabs with the likes of Cassian, Felix Cartal, Kaskade, The Ready Set, among others. Her ability to curate meaningful songs and connect with the new gen has left a lasting imprint on those she teams up with, so it’s no surprise that FINNEAS (Billie Eilish, Celeste, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato) named her one of his favorite artists to work with (in an interview with Ones To Watch).

There’s a comfort in Gabrielle Current’s ruminations and down-to-earth approach—akin to greats like India.Arie, Roberta Flack, and Sade, as well as contemporaries such as Cleo Sol, Raveena, and Snoh Aalegra—that makes her an artist to keep your eye on, this year and for many years to come.
