California-native pop singer CLO unveils new video for her latest magnificent single “Real” directed by Nikko Lamere
Her new single “Real” which got released last week, is an upbeat track with a retro hook that’s all about growth and self assurance for the 20-year-old, Los Angeles-based rising artist.
CLO states about the song: “‘Real’ means so much to me… It’s my favorite song I’ve ever written, so to have such a strong electric video with it makes my heart so full. Collaborating with Nikko Lamere again after ‘Blackout’ is such a dream and the whole team who worked on this project with me are just incredible. The day we filmed the video was such a whirlwind! The crew and I were running around Downtown LA grabbing all the footage we could. At one point we were literally in the middle of traffic!! So much fun. So happy to be able to share this with the world!”
CLO adds: “‘Real’ is my favorite song I’ve ever written. The sentiment of ‘Real’ to me is staying authentic, strong and empowered as a young woman navigating my way through LA. I give myself permission to rise from any toxic relationship, hardship or situation. Finding strength through the realization that some people are fake and will want to break you down… But I know who I am and I will come out on top every time. This song really is so special to me. While writing it, I definitely had an ah-ha moment of ‘I am who I am and I love myself. I won’t let anyone tear me down or tell me I don’t matter.’ Very cathartic.”
CLO made her post-quarantine debut at The Federal NoHo for her first live show of 2021. The new sensation made her appearance in support of her current releases which include the Warren Huart-produced singles “Blackout,” “Sliding Doors (There You Are),” and of course, “Real.”
