Tiera Kennedy shares “Somebody Like You,” a grounded and soulful single following her BET Award nomination.

Tiera Kennedy continues to break genre boundaries with her new single, “Somebody Like You,” out now. Written by Kennedy with Cameron Bedell and Jared Scott, the track is a heartfelt reflection on the importance of having someone in your life who brings you back to yourself.

“We all need somebody—someone who sees you, holds space for you, and helps you get through the hard stuff. Somebody who keeps the light on for you when you’re finding your way back home,” shares Kennedy.

The accompanying music video, directed by Kamren Kennedy, visually amplifies the emotion of the track, placing Tiera in a vast Tennessee field as she delivers a moving performance.

“Somebody Like You” arrives just after her headline set at The Basement East in Nashville and a slew of career milestones. Earlier this month, Kennedy earned her first BET Award nomination in the BET Her category for her work on Beyoncé’s “Blackbiird,” alongside Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts.

She also released a new episode of her Apple Music Radio show, The Tiera Show, featuring an intimate conversation with Ms. Tina Knowles, discussing her new book MATRIARCH, motherhood, and more.

Kennedy’s recent wide release of her cover of Beyoncé’s “1+1”—originally an Apple Music exclusive—has also been met with praise, further solidifying her place as one of music’s most genre-fluid rising voices.

With appearances at CMA Fest, Vineyard Jam, and more music ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be Tiera’s biggest year yet.
