ThxSoMch unveils his last single before debut album release, diving into vulnerability and punchy alt-rock energy.
Canada’s rising punk disruptor ThxSoMch delivers a final glimpse into his debut album with the gripping single “Keep It To Yourself,” out now via Atlantic Records. The full project, The Sound of You Laughing, lands August 29 and sets the tone for the artist’s next chapter.
Born out of a joke between ThxSoMch and his longtime collaborator grayskies (whose credits include d4vd and Wisp), “Keep It To Yourself” transforms a moment of humor into an electrifying track. “Sometimes, we’d come up with an idea and the other person would say, ‘you can keep that… to yourself,’” he explains. That playful back-and-forth evolved into a freestyle over a syncopated guitar riff and eventually became the emotional and energetic anthem fans hear today.
The song’s raw guitar lines and fast-paced rhythm reflect the broader emotional weight of the upcoming album. Crafted over seven months in Brazil, the record is more than just a debut—it’s a full immersion into self-expression. “No phone, no English, no sense of time—just a flow state that let me escape everything else,” he shares about the experience. “Creating this was like a cigarette after a long craving.”
Produced by grayskies and mixed by acclaimed engineer Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys), the record blends punk, rock, and rap with unfiltered emotion. ThxSoMch uses his lyrics to explore both the chaos and calm of the human condition—mockery and coping, escape and survival.
With a North American, UK, and European tour launching next month and momentum building rapidly, ThxSoMch is proving that vulnerability can be the strongest creative force of all.
