The Underachievers Drop “Homecoming”, A Triumphant Return to Form

The Underachievers The Underachievers

Brooklyn’s The Underachievers return with “Homecoming”, their first album since 2018, out now on SLANG.

Brooklyn-bred duo The Underachievers have officially ended their musical silence with the release of Homecoming, their first full-length project in five years. Out now via SLANG, the album captures the evolution of the group—Issa Gold and AKTHESAVIOR—as they reemerge with clarity, purpose, and a sharpened artistic vision.

Known for weaving spirituality and psychedelia into their sound, Homecoming builds on that legacy while introducing a matured and more grounded approach. The nine-track project features their most layered production and honest lyricism to date, making it a standout addition to their catalog.

Highlights include singles “Brand New”, which dropped with a visual featuring the duo as collectible action figures, and “Have Nots”, produced by Issa Gold, which sparked buzz online and landed him on the Splice Producer list. October’s “Have Nots” saw high engagement on platforms like On The Radar, with over 1,400 comments and 4,400 shares.

Their comeback also includes the high-energy “Megatron”, a visual-heavy offering that explores duality and everyday triumphs in the backdrop of NYC’s tension and rhythm.

Homecoming includes a guest spot from DJ Enuff, linking past and present through Brooklyn bloodlines. The Underachievers also made waves during New York Fashion Week with a performance at GianiNYC’s One Night Only, and in LA alongside Flatbush Zombies, celebrating the Beast Coast movement.

Editorial playlist adds include Rap Rising, Underground Hip-Hop Essentials, Hip-Hop Workout, Fresh N Dope, and Songs You Need in Your Life (The FADER), signaling a full-scale welcome back.
