Hamburg based DJ & producer Tensnake delivers a new innovative video for “Strange Without You” feat. Daramola.
Tensnake releases a new and highly ingenious pop video trilogy bringing his key singles from the album to life. It follows the release of Tensnake’s sophomore album L.A., which gained critical acclaim as a musical assemblage of personal thoughts and feelings, love and losses whilst living in the City of Angels. Part II of the trilogy, “Strange Without You”, is now out and it brings real life and fantasy together in a modern day aquatic love story.
Gentle and heart-warming, the visually attractive videos have an ultimate twist in the tail. Setting the scene with Part I was ‘Somebody Else’, it begins following two girls in love as they enjoy each other and the city. The story unfolds as they spend their last night together, before one has to depart at sunset, back to the sea, revealing in the closing shot that she is a mystical mermaid.Â
Part II of the trilogy perfectly continues the narrative with the terrestrial girls as one spends the day retracing her steps without her lover. Not able to get her out of her head, she begins to reminisce, mixing her reality with memories of their encounters. A multitude of special effects-laden scenes unfold, all carefully interwoven around the sound bed of Tensnake’s ‘Strange Without You,’ perfectly fitting the song & title to the film.
After getting his first taste of success in 2009 with his dubut album, Tensnake has been cementing his status as a dance music pioneer every step along the way. The Hamburg-born DJ, producer and label boss secured U.K. chart success with 2010 single ‘Coma Cat’, officially remixed songs from the likes of Aloe Blacc (‘I Need A Dollar’, 2010), Lana Del Rey (‘National Anthem’, 2012), London Grammar (‘Hey Now’, 2014) and Duke Dumont (‘I Got You’, 2014), collaborated with Nile Rodgers, three-time Grammy-winner Stuart Price, Jamie Lidell, MNEK, Fiora and more for his debut album ‘Glow’ in 2014, and snatched up over 70 million streams on Spotify to date. And now with a brand-new artist album in the pipeline, Tensnake is taking all the right steps to ensure that this year will be his best one yet.
