Rising star sombr has officially unveiled his long-awaited debut album ‘I Barely Know Her’, out now via Warner Records. The 10-track collection cements the 20-year-old artist’s breakthrough year, featuring his Billboard Hot 100 hits “back to friends”, “undressed”, and “12 to 12.” Each track continues to climb the charts across Top 40 Radio, U.S. and Global Spotify Charts, the UK Official Singles Chart, and Alternative Radio. His rapid rise even saw him peak at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs, surpassing Hozier after the Irish artist held the top spot for over a year.
The album, entirely self-written and co-produced by sombr alongside acclaimed producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, The Replacements), shows the young musician’s evolution from viral newcomer to one of today’s most promising alternative voices.
Born Shane Boose and raised on New York’s Lower East Side, sombr’s journey started in his bedroom while attending LaGuardia High School, where he studied classical music. His 2022 breakout single “Caroline” introduced him to a global audience, amassing millions of streams and setting the stage for his meteoric rise. Since then, he has consistently delivered emotionally charged singles and EPs, building a catalog that has surpassed 400 million monthly streams worldwide.
