Skilla Baby unveils CM3, featuring 16 tracks, guest verses from Tee Grizzley, Hunxho, and Toosii, plus standout production.
Detroit’s own Skilla Baby is back with CM3, the third installment in his acclaimed Crack Music mixtape series, released via Geffen Records. The 16-track project showcases Skilla’s signature blend of hard-hitting lyrics and versatile production, with contributions from top-tier producers like GRAMMY®-nominated Bizness Boi, Dizzy Banko, and MIA JayC.
The mixtape’s guest roster is equally impressive, including appearances by Tee Grizzley, Hunxho, Toosii, and 4batz. Notable tracks like “Can’t Afford It,” featuring Hunxho, exude victory, while “So Bad,” with 4batz, celebrates loyalty with flair, accompanied by a stylish music video.
Another highlight is “Controversy 2,” where Skilla and Tee Grizzley reunite for a gritty sequel that underscores their potent chemistry, further cementing their status as a Detroit rap powerhouse. Meanwhile, “Thug Life,” featuring Peezy, stacks up 2Pac references, blending nostalgia with Skilla’s distinct sound.
“Sensual” stands out from the pack — a rare bedroom jam with ’90s vibes brought into the present by Toosii’s digitized melodic runs and Skilla Baby’s raw delivery. Kicking off the mixtape, “Donovan Mcnabb” is a powerful opener where Skilla silences doubters with fiery bars and booming beats, stating, “AYE! A hundred thousand every week, I’m in my bag / Richer than I ever f—-g been, that’s probably why they mad.”
With CM3, Skilla Baby reinforces his reputation as a dynamic storyteller and a leader in Detroit’s thriving hip-hop movement.
