Alt artist Shaya Zamora drops “Numb,” an introspective track about emotional disconnection and fear of love.
Alternative singer-songwriter Shaya Zamora unveils his newest single, “Numb,” marking his first solo release of the year via Atlantic Records. Known for his evocative songwriting, Zamora presents a deeply personal track that touches on the challenges of vulnerability in love.
“There’s something terrifying about giving the real you to someone,” Zamora shares. “Some run from love, too afraid to let it in, cause we don’t want to feel. Others stand in its presence – numb.”
The production on “Numb,” helmed by longtime collaborators Maxwell “Mxwell” Harlor and Croixx, delivers an atmospheric soundscape that complements the track’s emotional weight. Its resonance has already struck a chord with listeners, thanks to its growing popularity on short-form video platforms.
“Numb” follows a series of impactful collaborations, including “Monster” with colby! and “Lament” alongside Tommee Profitt and Sam Tinnesz. With each release, Zamora continues to carve a distinct space in the alt-pop and singer-songwriter genres.
Zamora’s rise has been swift. Since the release of his 2024 debut EP Eulogize—which includes the breakout track “Cigarette,” now with over 40 million streams—his music has connected deeply with a growing global audience.
Raised in rural Washington and rooted in honest, down-to-earth storytelling, Zamora’s work blends acoustic vulnerability with spiritual undertones. “Numb” is another chapter in his narrative—an unfiltered reflection on what it means to stand in love’s presence, without fully letting it in.
