SG Lewis teams up with Shygirl for “Sugar” as he preps new album ‘Anemoia‘ and fall tour dates.
As the summer heats up, SG Lewis and Shygirl have released their shimmering new single, “Sugar,” just ahead of the producer’s third studio album, Anemoia, which drops September 5 via Forever Days/Astralwerks. The track also arrives alongside the announcement of SG Lewis’s North American tour this fall.
“Sugar” sees the return of the winning chemistry between SG Lewis and Shygirl, following their 2024 hit “mr useless” — a standout from Shygirl’s Club Shy EP that has now racked up over 300 million streams. Their new collaboration is full of warmth, shimmer, and sensual rhythm, making it an essential addition to this season’s playlists.
The London-born, LA-based producer says this moment marks a shift in his creative process, as Anemoia places him once again at the center of his own solo artist vision.
“When I discovered the word Anemoia, it articulated a feeling I’d struggled to describe for so long — a nostalgia for times I never lived through,” SG Lewis explains.
The album blends Balearic textures, trance inspiration, and early 2000s electronic energy — all influenced by his time in Ibiza last summer. “This album is rooted in the dancefloor, and even its quieter moments are shaped by Balearic sounds… I want Anemoia to be a soundtrack to living in the present — to creating the kind of moments that others might one day feel nostalgic for.”
Anemoia also follows his introspective recent single “Back of My Mind,” reflecting a creatively renewed SG Lewis, now grounded after years on the road.
Pre-orders and tickets for the North American tour are now available.
