South Korea’s SE SO NEON returns with the single “Remember!” and their new album “NOW” out August 15.
SE SO NEON, the genre-bending South Korean band led by visionary artist Soyoon Hwang, returns with the long-awaited announcement of their new album <NOW>, arriving August 15. The project continues the band’s tradition of blending vintage textures with forward-thinking sounds, rooted in nature and deeply present in feeling.
The group also premiered their new single “Remember!” today, along with an English version and a cinematic music video directed by Soyoon herself. The track is co-produced by Soyoon and Jon Nellen, and mixed by Nathan Boddy—known for his work with Pink Pantheress and Geordie Greep.
“Sadly, there are times when I come to understand myself through the death of others,” says Soyoon. “Perhaps because I haven’t experienced death very often, it seems to hit me even harder…”
This sentiment permeates “Remember!”, a song born from personal loss, notably Soyoon’s tribute to late mentor Ryuichi Sakamoto. The single showcases SE SO NEON’s signature style: emotionally textured, dynamically arranged, and universally resonant.
After releasing her 2023 solo album Episode1: Love, Soyoon sought a creative reset and found inspiration in New York City. Those studio sessions became the genesis of <NOW>, an album about presence, nature, and returning to the moment.
The group will embark on a North American headline tour this fall, kicking off September 3 with stops at Brooklyn Steel, The Wiltern, and more.
