Alt-pop artist Sadie Jean releases “I Tried,” a piano-led ballad paired with a raw NYC-shot music video.
Sadie Jean has returned with her most emotionally charged release to date, the heartfelt new single “I Tried.” Now available alongside a visual companion, the track blends vulnerability and melody into a tender moment of acceptance.
Released as the latest addition to her growing catalog, “I Tried” features Sadie’s trademark soft vocals over gentle piano, slowly building into an anthemic ballad that captures heartbreak in its quietest and loudest forms. The lyrics feel deeply personal, as though lifted directly from the pages of a journal.
Accompanying the song is a music video directed by Lauren Tepfer, filmed in New York. The video presents a raw and unfiltered portrayal of the morning after a breakup, matching the mood of the track perfectly.
Reflecting on the single, Sadie Jean shares:
“I need every boy I’ve ever loved to hear ‘I Tried.’ It perfectly bottles up the feeling of accepting defeat after a relationship turns one sided. I’m not sure that I’ve ever felt more attached and invested and proud of a song and I can’t wait to finally share it with the world.”
“I Tried” has already taken off on TikTok, racking up 30 million views and more than 5,000 video creations, quickly turning it into a viral favorite. This release follows last year’s Simple Like 17 (Deluxe), which featured the RIAA Gold-certified hit “WYD Now?” and tracks like “Locksmith” and “Just Because.”
Following a sold-out headline tour across the U.S., U.K., and Europe, Sadie will return to the stage in November with a 20-date European run.
