Robin Schulz and Steve Aoki team up for the first time with LAWRENT on the electrifying single “Bloodtype”
After years of crossing paths on festival stages and sharing backstage moments, Robin Schulz and Steve Aoki have finally come together in the studio. Their first-ever collaboration, titled “Bloodtype”, features London-based producer LAWRENT and is now available via Warner Music.
“Bloodtype” dives into a dark and adrenaline-fueled club atmosphere, with Robin Schulz pushing further into electronic soundscapes than his recent releases. It follows his May single “Freaking You Out” with NERVO, but turns up the intensity. The production is marked by LAWRENT’s edgy design and Aoki’s high-impact approach, resulting in a pulsing, turbulent sound.
The track moves like a storm under pressure, balancing erupting basslines with frenzied beats and bursts of white noise. The topline cuts through with commanding delivery: “Imma give you my bloodtype / Baby, you’re just my bloodtype” followed by the direct invitation, “Back to my place”. The vocal tone remains cool and slightly distorted, perfectly suited to the charged club aesthetic.
“Bloodtype” has already become a highlight in Robin Schulz’s current festival setlist, resonating across massive stages from Tomorrowland to Electric Love, and through his Pacha residency in Ibiza. He’s shared the stage with acts like Topic, Icona Pop, and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.
This collaboration marks a notable first between Schulz and Aoki, two established names in global dance music. With LAWRENT adding his signature style, “Bloodtype” stands out as a fierce and uncompromising addition to 2024’s club scene.
