Robin Cisek shares her emotional new single “Escape,” with a visualizer highlighting Edmonton’s art.
Robin Cisek, the award-winning Métis singer-songwriter and producer, has unveiled her latest single “Escape,” out now ahead of her forthcoming full-length album.
Produced by Cisek with Brandon Unis and Brad Simons, “Escape” celebrates the importance of supportive relationships. “Sometimes I get really overwhelmed and I’m so thankful for the people that help me get a break and bring me back down to earth,” Cisek explains. “Without each of these people, I wouldn’t have accomplished everything I have to date and, for that, I’ll be forever grateful for them.”
“Escape” follows the release of “Play Dirty,” the first single from her upcoming album, which introduced a new era of Cisek’s sound and vision. The project not only showcases her production skills—she produced over half of the album’s tracks—but also shines a light on the essential contributions of women in the music industry. “I hope that inspires other girls and women to challenge themselves to do something they didn’t think they could, because they definitely can!” she says.
The release of “Escape” is paired with a self-directed visualizer, featuring Edmonton’s dynamic arts scene and works by local artist MAST. “Edmonton is such an artistic city,” Cisek shares, “and when I’m looking to escape limiting thoughts I tend to take a walk around the city.”
Fans can catch Cisek’s live show this summer in Edmonton and Toronto following her recent No Girl Left Behind performance in Grande Prairie.
