Rezz and Owl Vision fuse hypnotic bass and video game energy in ‘Downward’, ahead of new album A’s The Pendulum Swings’.
Canadian DJ and producer Rezz adds a bold final chapter to her upcoming album As The Pendulum Swings with the release of new single ‘Downward’, a powerful collaboration with Swedish visual artist and producer Owl Vision. Released via HypnoVizion, the track arrives with a full 8-bit animated music video that draws fans deeper into Rezz’s otherworldly sonic universe.
With crunchy bass textures, hypnotic midtempo energy, and a retro, pixelated soundscape, ‘Downward’ reflects both artists’ styles in a way that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. The track effortlessly blends Rezz’s signature sonic tension with Owl Vision’s gritty industrial edge—layering synths and rhythms that feel like stepping into a digital maze.
Rezz shared how the track came together, saying, “I went on a deep dive on some of my favorite underground midtempo and industrial producers, and I re-discovered Owl Vision. I reached out and he sent me a demo, which I finished within a day or two. It was super fun and I’m stoked for everyone to see the video we got made for it.” 
Owl Vision echoed the energy behind their creative reconnection: “We had talked about working together a few years back so I’m really glad we reconnected… I’m hoping fans will hear both of our styles shining through on this one. I’m also super stoked to show everyone the visuals for the song!”
As the final single before the full album drops on September 12, ‘Downward’ follows recent releases ‘Glass Veins’, ‘Prophecy’, ‘Contorted’, and ‘Telepathy’. The album release will be followed by Rezz’s next PORTAL show at Tacoma Dome on September 26, where she makes history as the first female electronic DJ to headline the venue.
