Raf-Saperra makes his most daring sonic pivot yet with the release of his new single “Step Out,” produced by global Punjabi powerhouse Ikky and released via Polydor Records and Universal Music Canada. The track is a high-octane pop anthem filtered through Raf’s unmistakable Punjabi aesthetic.
“First time stepping into the pop lane… and who better to do it with than the hitmaker himself, Ikky,” says Raf. “‘Step Out’ is a full-blown earworm – catchy, bold, and backed by a visual straight out of a cartoon-meets-cinema dream.”
The song is Raf and Ikky’s creative take on the fusion of Dub from London, Dancehall from Toronto, and the soul of Punjabi folk. Built on sharp melodic hooks and rhythmic grooves, “Step Out” previews the direction of Raf’s forthcoming pop-centric EP, which pushes his boundary-breaking ethos even further.
