Mexican-American artist Paco teams up with Alé Araya for his Latin Funk Wave Pop single “CANDY.”
Genre-bending Mexican-American artist Paco returns with a fresh new release, “CANDY.” featuring Alé Araya, now available via all major streaming platforms. Blending elements of Latin, funk, and alternative pop, the track dives into themes of romantic longing and emotional vulnerability through both English and Spanish lyrics.
With a sonic palette Paco calls “Latin Funk Wave Pop,” “CANDY.” offers a bold step into his next musical era. “Who doesn’t love something sweet? A guilty pleasure some might say is what ‘CANDY.’ ft. Alé Araya is,” Paco shares. “The sound of something familiar yet new is what this song brings with its genre bending title… SUERTE.”
Paco’s introspective lyrics in “CANDY.” reflect on past intimacy and the aching aftermath of lost love. Alé Araya’s textured vocals complement the track’s wistful yet vibrant sound.
The single follows Paco’s run of genre-blending projects including “BODY SHOP.” / “PLAN B.”, “LIE 2 ME,” and his contribution to Tommy Richman’s “LETTERMAN” from COYOTE. Currently, Paco is joining Richman on the COYOTE European tour, following previous performances on the Before The Desert Tour.
As a first-generation Mexican-American, Paco’s journey from DJing high school parties in St. Louis to building a career in Los Angeles underscores his ambition to inspire others like him to dream beyond boundaries. “CANDY.” signals just the beginning of his next creative phase.
