Omari Banks and cricket superstar Chris Gayle, aka Universeboss, have joined forces for a feel-good summer anthem, “Living It Up,” now available across all major streaming platforms. With sunny Caribbean grooves and spirited lyrics, the track celebrates the joys of life, friendship, and freedom, blending both artists’ worlds seamlessly.
“Living It Up is inspired by the energy and party vibes that pulse through the Caribbean,” says Omari. Drawing from his early years as a traveling cricketer and now a respected reggae artist, Omari infuses his signature soulful guitar work into a high-energy rhythm that leans into a more playful sound, without straying from his roots.
Co-arranged with Michael Fletcher, the single showcases a collaborative spirit. Omari penned the hook and his verses, while Chris Gayle and producer Camar “Flava” added their own contributions, bringing personality and lyrical depth to the track. The production was overseen by Ann and Gordon Woodward, who also served as executive producers.
The pair’s long-standing friendship, which began on the cricket field, naturally extended into the studio. “Chris and I go way back, from youth cricket to the international stage… He’s charismatic, energetic, and always brings good vibes,” Omari reflects.
Chris echoes the sentiment: “When I first heard the track, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It reflects how I live, fun, engaging, and always in celebration of life.”
