“new low” marks the start of Novulent’s “VOL.3”, exploring toxic love and mental lows. Out now via Capitol Records.

Novulent returns with a powerful new single titled “new low,” the lead track from their forthcoming album VOL.3, due later this year via Capitol Records. The Texas-based 20-year-old artist uses “new low” to dive headfirst into the emotional toll of toxic relationships.

“The song talks about being so desperate to be with someone that you’ve hit a new low mentally to stay with them,” Novulent shares. “Peeling back their personality more and more, you see how awful they are but, in desperation and wishful thinking, you still stay with them, accepting what they are – a ‘beautiful poison.’”

VOL.3 will chronicle the story of a relationship across its various stages—highlighting the grey area where pain, hope, and longing all collide. Novulent says each single leading up to the album will reflect “the emotional journey that love can take you on. It’s never black and white, it’s always grey.”

The project continues the introspective series that began with VOL.1 and VOL.2. Their breakout hit “scars” from VOL.1 has now surpassed 111 million streams, while VOL.2’s “soul ties” continues its rise with over 1.5 million global streams and 20K+ weekly plays in the U.S.

Recently coming off their first headline tour, which ended with a praised set at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, Novulent proves they are as compelling live as they are in the studio. “new low” signals the start of another emotionally charged, musically rich chapter.
