Marlhy’s debut album explores the uncertainty of entering adulthood through emotional alt-rock and alt-pop sounds.

Singer-songwriter Marlhy introduces her debut full-length album the thoughts that keep me up at night, an honest portrayal of navigating life in your twenties. Combining alt-rock and alt-pop influences, the project channels emotional complexity into a series of candid tracks that reflect her personal evolution.

Marlhy shares, “I wanted this album to speak to anyone who’s ever questioned themselves as they stepped into the unknown,” Marlhy shares. “Entering my 20s was a huge wake-up call. For the first time in my life, I didn’t have all the answers, and that was a hard pill to swallow.”

The album journeys through themes like lost friendships, career uncertainty, and self-discovery. Songs such as “young and naïve” capture youthful abandon, contrasting it with newfound maturity. Meanwhile, “you.” reflects on emotional detachment and closure, while tracks like “: black” deal with the weight of heartbreak and the pain that often accompanies personal growth.

Marlhy’s artistic voice is supported by an impressive team of collaborators including Michael Kamerman, Jordyn Kane, Christian Fiore, Olivia Cargile, Aaron Blackmar, Kella Armitage, Fran Hall, and Cameron Walker. Co-produced by Kamerman, Blackmar, and Fiore, the album’s sound is both layered and emotionally grounded.

Reflecting on the project, Marlhy says, “Writing this album helped me realize that there’s something to be said about allowing life to naturally guide you… I hope this album helps others feel like they’re not alone in their own struggles.”

With the thoughts that keep me up at night, Marlhy invites listeners into a deeply personal chapter-one defined by change, acceptance, and emotional release.
