After years of industry evolution, Laidback Luke is hitting reset. His latest single, “It Clicked,” out now via Dim Mak, signals a return to the bold, high-energy sound that made him a trailblazer in dance music.
Brimming with the raw, gritty energy of early Dutch house and Bloghouse, “It Clicked” takes inspiration from legends like Crookers, Switch, and The Bloody Beetroots. The track’s pounding basslines and electrifying rhythms serve as a manifesto of artistic reinvention. “I looked back at the last decade of my career, and I realized I’d been trying to conform to the streaming market,” Luke shares. “I want to return to being me—loud, harsh, funky, and unapologetically me.”
Adding to the excitement, Luke joins Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak label, marking a reunion with a longtime friend and collaborator. “I saw Steve at Tomorrowland last year and told him, ‘Dude, I’m about to be signed to Dim Mak!’ He was like, ‘That’s an honor. Welcome to the family.’”
