Laci Kaye Booth honors country legend George Strait in her fiery, heartfelt new single ahead of CMA Fest.
Laci Kaye Booth has released a striking new single titled “George F****** Strait,” paying homage to a Texas icon just in time for her CMA Fest performance. Out now via Geffen Records, the track reflects Booth’s deep musical roots and her connection to the legend himself.
Written alongside Melissa Fuller and Anderson East, and produced by Ben West and East, the single captures the sentiment of timeless admiration. Booth delivers the stirring line, “God give me a man / That just gets better with age / Like George f****** Strait,” with both reverence and grit.
“My very first concert was George Strait, the nosebleed seats at Houston Livestock show and rodeo,” Booth recalls. “The majority of his music I’ve known by heart since I was a little girl. This song is about admiring and loving a cowboy as he ages, with the prime example being the King of Country music, the Troubadour himself.”
The music video, directed by Natalie Sakstrup and filmed in Nashville, visually matches the song’s smoky, after-hours vibe, featuring Booth in a western-tinged, late-night setting.
Following her Grand Ole Opry debut in March, Booth hits the road again this summer, joining Megan Mooney on select dates, supporting Parker McCollum, and performing at key festivals including North of Nowhere in Ontario and Country Calling 2025 in Ocean City, MD.
“George F****** Strait” follows “Daddy’s Mugshot,” continuing Booth’s streak of heartfelt, personal storytelling. With each new release, Booth carves out a space for herself among modern country’s most captivating voices.
