Kassi Ashton & Parker McCollum release ‘Sounds Like Something I’d Say,’ a soul-stirring track ahead of Made From The Dirt: The Blooms.
Rising country star Kassi Ashton teams up with Parker McCollum for “Sounds Like Something I’d Say,” a poignant duet reflecting on regret and reflection. The single will be included on Kassi’s upcoming deluxe album, Made From The Dirt: The Blooms, arriving April 25 via MCA Nashville.
The song delivers deeply personal storytelling, with both Kassi and Parker lending rich, expressive vocals over a minimal yet moving arrangement. On their collaboration, Kassi shares:
“Parker is a great friend of mine and I love his voice. The first time I ever heard him sing this song, we were backstage at the Ryman. I knew I had to cut it and that he had to sing it with me.”
Parker recalls his long-standing admiration for Kassi’s artistry:
“Kassi has been one of my favorite singers in Nashville for quite some time. I had a demo in my phone of her singing this song for a few years. After begging her to record it for a long time, she finally said she’d do it if I’d sing on it with her. I’m so glad I decided to do it and I hope it hits all the feels when people hear it.”
Following a milestone year, Kassi continues her rise, preparing to hit the road with Jon Pardi this spring while also performing at Audacy’s Leading Ladies event in Brooklyn on April 3.
