Hot on heels of his latest single ‘Favours’, JVCK JAMES Drops New Track “No Drama” Taken From Upcoming EP ‘JOYRIDE’ out March 12th
In the new single, ‘No Drama’ JVCK is back to his perfect take on an old school feeling and showcasing his deft ability to mix US influences seen through a UK lens. something he’s so good at channeling and skewing to a modern vibe.
JVCK James shares, “This new single embodies everything I loved about the 90s R&B era. From the iconic imagery, to the grouped choreo. Back in the day I would mirror dance routines from my favourite music videos on MTV, wishing one day to be able create my own stamp on the genre! R&B is really all about the feeling, being able to translate that over with your voice, lacing it with harmonies (my favourite part) and then embodying that emotion through style and movement. Feeling truly blessed to be able to finally kick start this era with the track I’ve probably spun the most out of all my records!”
After releasing the standalone single ‘Favours’ at the end of 2020, ‘No Drama’ is a cut from his upcoming EP ‘Joyride’ due out March 12th; with the video being taken from a longer-form film shot and directed by UK director Fenn O’Meally (Jorja Smith, Wu-Tang, Stormzy), which soundtracks the entire EP and both stylistically and sonically lifts JVCK above and beyond his contemporaries. On the track JVCK says:
After supporting the likes of Mahalia and Ella Mai around America and Europe in 2019 and headlining a sold-out Omeara in London for his last headline show, JVCK is due to set new live dates for 2021 imminently, proving himself as one of the most impressive new talents to come out of the UK in recent years.
The end of last year also saw JVCK’s perform as part of the BET Soul Train Awards ‘UK Soul Cypher’ alongside Hamzaa, Sinead Harnett and Shae Universe, which followed his first ever live TV performance at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards in Las Vegas, appearing as the only UK artist to perform at the official pre-show event.
