Jay Wheeler drops ‘Por Fa No Te Vayas’, a bachata on Dynamic Records, with ‘Girasoles’ doc tie in and chart milestones.

Jay Wheeler opens a new lane with ‘Por Fa No Te Vayas’, stepping into tropical rhythm and delivering a bachata built around emotion and devotion. The multi platinum singer songwriter uses the song to highlight a romantic, refreshing side of his artistry, signaling another move in an evolving career known for versatility in Latin music. Released via Dynamic Records, EMPIRE, the single is available now across digital platforms.

This new chapter took shape after watching other artists embrace tropical sounds. Inspired by that wave, Jay Wheeler set his sights on bachata as a vehicle for a story about heartbreak and a plea for lasting love, a song for the moment when you hope the person you pictured forever with decides to stay. The creation began in his home studio, where he heard a bachata foundation produced by Yeziell and co written by Puerto Rican songwriter Vasave. From there, he layered in his signature color and phrasing, shaping an intimate track with a melodic pull and the tropical feel he had imagined.

“I wanted to do something tropical and different, to challenge myself with a style I hadn’t tried before. I had done salsa once, but I felt I still needed to do bachata. I never imagined it would turn out so special—honestly, it’s one of my favorite songs,” said Jay Wheeler.

Alongside the single, listeners can look more closely at the artist’s world through ‘Girasoles: Desde La Raíz’, a documentary directed by Enrique (Emma) González and produced by Dynamic Records. The film pairs with his most personal album yet, ‘Girasoles’, and opens the door to the creative process behind each cut.
