“Bad Boys” fuses East and West energy in Jax Jones’ latest club-ready collaboration with Rebecca Black and sooyeon.
Jax Jones releases his explosive new single “Bad Boys,” featuring alt-pop icon Rebecca Black and high-energy co-production from sooyeon. Out now via Astralwerks and Eastern Margins, the track is a bold expression of Jones’ latest creative evolution—fusing global club culture with emotional electricity.
Having relocated to Bangkok at the end of 2023, Jax has spent the past year exploring Asia’s underground scenes, drawing inspiration from the redline sound—a term coined by Eastern Margins that encapsulates the intense, fast-paced energy of East and Southeast Asia’s club culture. “I wanted to research new music and immerse in sub-genres like budots from the Philippines,” he shares. “This is organic discovery.”
“Bad Boys” lands with punchy pop hooks from Rebecca Black—whose latest project SALVATION cements her place as a creative force—and kinetic club flair from sooyeon, a DJ known for her genre-smashing sets. “This is an unreal collaboration I did not have on my 2025 bingo card,” says sooyeon. “I’m obsessed!”
Jax Jones’ new sound is raw, global, and boundary-breaking. He’s spent his career building club anthems, but this marks a new page—where identity, exploration, and cultural exchange come together.
Eastern Margins co-signs the link-up, saying, “Makina to Manyao, Manchester to Malaysia—we both draw from the same sonic mobius strip.”
“Bad Boys” sets the tone for what’s next: Jax Jones, remixed by the world.
