Grace VanderWaal releases ‘Babydoll’ with Aliyah’s Interlude, an energetic pop anthem paired with a bold music video.

Grace VanderWaal introduces a fresh sound with her new single “Babydoll”, featuring Aliyah’s Interlude. This playful and energetic release follows her introspective track “What’s Left of Me”, setting the stage for her evolving artistry. The Sophie Hur-directed music video complements the track’s lively attitude, capturing the song’s bratty yet confident energy.

VanderWaal reflects on the creative process behind the track:
“In the studio, we were talking about acting bratty, going out, wanting everything, and being a diva. Tiffany Stringer and I had the idea to write a song from our alter ego’s perspective. We named mine Baby Doll: who doesn’t like to be told no. I had an amazing time writing and creating it.”

Following a standout 2024, VanderWaal’s artistic presence was felt beyond music. She delivered a stunning Kennedy Center Honors performance and starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s highly anticipated film Megalopolis, which premiered at Cannes to critical acclaim.

Her music journey began with her 2016 EP Imperfectly Perfect, which became the year’s best-selling EP, entering the Billboard 200 Top 10. She later released her debut album Just The Beginning and toured with Florence + the Machine and Imagine Dragons.

Now, embracing her independence, VanderWaal is writing her next musical chapter on her own terms.
