UK pop star on the rise Emily Burns is back with a brand new official video for single “I’m so happy“
With over 19 million global streams and a Top 10 spot on the iTunes chart, Emily and JP performed the song live on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on the very first day the legendary Maida Vale studios opened its doors following lockdown.
In the video Emily expresses those feelings of having something magical and beautiful, and the fear and anxiety that comes with the chance of losing it all.
Emily explains: “I clearly remember the day I wrote “I’m so Happy” … I went into the studio and was in the best mood ever. I said to the guys about how good I was feeling, and how everything was going right in my life that day – “I’m in love, I have great family and friends, I love my job” and so on. We started talking about the fear that comes hand-in-hand with overwhelming happiness, the worry that something is bound to go wrong, even when it might never. That’s where the idea of “I’m so happy, it’s a problem” came from… the idea that sometimes happiness can be painful, because you feel like you’ve got so much to lose. It’s like being on a tightrope and knowing that one wrong move could cause the end of it all”
Emily will start a much-anticipated UK headline tour kicking off in September 2021 with four sold-out dates already. She has also been confirmed as the special guest of Brit Award-winning singer, songwriter Rag’n’Bone Man on his UK tour later this year.
She also returned to the site of her first job with a very special live-streamed fundraiser show from the legendary Abbey Road Studios in aid of AKT Charity which supports young and vulnerable LGBTQ+ people faced with homelessness.
