Double Touch | ‘Gran Amigo’ offers 4 tracks of elegance and soul | A genre-blurring journey through rhythm and melody
Blending instrumental elegance with electronic sophistication, live duo Double Touch return to All Day I Dream with their latest project, Gran Amigo—a four-track EP that offers a transportive experience across cultures, moods, and genres.
The release continues Double Touch’s refined sonic narrative, following previous favorites like Storm and Adagio. On Gran Amigo, they explore the meeting point of deep house textures and live classical instrumentation. Across 23 minutes, each song flows seamlessly into the next, offering a meditative yet movement-driven listening journey.
The EP opens with “Come With Me,” a simmering slow-burner filled with hypnotic rhythm and soft, inviting melodies. From there, “Desire” pulses forward with intricate drum work before yielding to the immersive soundscape of the title track. The closing song “Amour” dips into deeper emotional terrain, giving the record a poignant finale.
Based between Los Angeles and Sydney, Double Touch is composed of pianist/composer Van-Anh Nguyen and producer/drummer Mark Olsen—a combination that continues to elevate their compositions beyond the expected. Their work is equally at home on grand stages or intimate listening spaces.
Gran Amigo reaffirms Double Touch’s role in the live electronic world as creators of soundscapes that soothe and stir. It’s a release that both deepens their discography and welcomes newcomers into their sonic universe.
