CATTY’s “Joyride” captures romantic chaos with bold vocals and raw honesty.

CATTY, the breakout Welsh glam-pop star, is back with her stunning new single “Joyride,” the first track since her 2024 debut EP Healing Out Of Spite. The track premiered as Jodie Bryant’s Future Bop on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop and marks a major artistic leap forward for the rising star.

Written in “pure panic,” Joyride is a collision of emotions—part love song, part breakdown. CATTY’s powerhouse voice soars over a lush arrangement of baroque keys and brass, chronicling a dizzying, all-consuming return to romantic vulnerability.

“Everything I write is unfortunately a little too true to life,” she explains. “I tried what I think is called a situationship… I hated it. I’ve never been casual about anything and I would have followed her into the depths of hell. So Joyride is basically me saying, I’m all in, please don’t hurt me.”

The track tackles emotional whiplash head-on, weaving through lines like “Watching my dignity circle the drain” and “I don’t even care if I get out alive.” A sapphic, Thelma & Louise-inspired video—starring Amy Spalding—is also on the way.

With a breakthrough year under her belt—sold-out headline shows, a slot opening for Stevie Nicks, and praise from NME, DIY, CLASH, and Popjustice—CATTY’s momentum is unstoppable. Joyride is out now via AWAL, with major performances ahead at The Great Escape, CloseUp Festival, Birmingham Pride, and Latitude.
