Cameron Whitcomb announces ‘The Hard Way’ for September 26 via Atlantic Records, shares emotional new single ‘Fragile’, out now.
Cameron Whitcomb sets a date for his first full length. The debut album, titled ‘The Hard Way’, arrives September 26 via Atlantic Records, with pre orders and pre saves open now. Alongside the announcement, Whitcomb shares a new track, ‘Fragile’, which lands as his most emotionally direct release to date and is available everywhere now.
“This record is every piece of who I am,” says Whitcomb. “And I sincerely hope you enjoy it.”
Across ‘The Hard Way’, Whitcomb traces a personal arc, from early battles with addiction through recovery and into adulthood. That lens informs the new single. ‘Fragile’ pairs his voice with a candid narrative, setting the tone for an album that documents turbulence and growth without losing sight of hope.
“‘Fragile’ is about being told to man up your whole childhood and pushing away everyone that cares because of your own insecurities,” shares Whitcomb. “It’s a song that came from a place of finally starting to understand why I was the way I was — and wanting to change that.”
The team behind ‘Fragile’ includes producer Jack Riley, known for work with Grace VanderWaal and Knox. The song was co written with Nolan Sipe and Cal Shapiro, the latter noted for Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’. The result speaks to a universal desire to be seen and loved for the journey, not just despite it but, in some ways, because of it.
Live plans amplify the rollout. Whitcomb begins with a top billed slot at Ontario’s Boots and Hearts Music Festival. He then heads across the Atlantic for the sold out EU and UK leg of his Hundred Mile High Tour. Back in the United States, he launches the I’ve Got Options Tour on September 26 in Portland, Oregon, running through mid November. Most dates are already sold out, including a two night stand at LA’s Troubadour on October 4 and 5, with extra shows added in Atlanta and Nashville in response to demand.
‘The Hard Way’ opens a new chapter while ‘Fragile’ offers the first look inside.
