“YOU LIED” by Braden Bales explores heartbreak and betrayal ahead of his summer EP release.
Capitol Records artist Braden Bales delivers an emotionally charged new single, “YOU LIED,” marking a pivotal moment in the rollout of his upcoming EP 5 STAGES OF GRIEF. With stirring lyrics and raw vulnerability, the song highlights the depression stage in the emotional journey of heartbreak.
“YOU LIED” finds Bales confronting the pain of betrayal head-on. Reflecting on a past relationship, he balances regret and sorrow with striking clarity. The track moves between subdued melancholy and lyrical intensity, showcasing the inner turmoil left behind after trust is broken.
“I wrote YOU LIED when I heard my ex’s music that painted our relationship in a bad light,” Bales explains. “We had a really bittersweet ending and it broke me to hear her talk negatively about everything we had and what being with me was like. ‘YOU LIED’ represents the depression stage of grief in my breakup and it’s written about the most painful part of this process.”
The release follows the momentum of Bales’ first headlining tour. He’s now on the road with singer-songwriter Livingston, joining The Story Continues tour, with performances in key cities including Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and Atlanta.
Through authentic, emotionally rooted songwriting, Braden Bales continues to establish himself as a relatable voice in modern music.
