Braden Bales explores heartbreak and healing in his vulnerable new EP “5 STAGES OF GRIEF”, out now via Capitol Records.
Braden Bales has released his new EP 5 STAGES OF GRIEF through Capitol Records, offering an unfiltered and emotionally raw portrayal of love, loss, and recovery. The project firmly places Bales at the center of Gen Z’s emotionally conscious music scene, as he turns personal heartache into songs that resonate with universal experience.
Featuring standout tracks like “I DON’T (BUT I DO),” “YOU LIED,” and the new song “WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT,” the EP encapsulates the full range of feelings that accompany emotional grief. Over alt-pop textures and stripped-back instrumentals, Bales delivers lyrics that sting with truth and sincerity.
“We lose people all the time. It’s human. Anything worth loving leaves a hole in your heart when it’s gone,” Bales says. “The ‘5 STAGES OF GRIEF’ project is a map of all the places my mind went to while I was struggling to let go of someone I cared about deeply. It’s raw and honest and vulnerable to the point of self-deprecation. Learn from my mistakes, grieve with me, or passively listen. I hope this helps you how it helped me.”
With his first headlining tour just wrapped and a support run with Livingston across major cities like New York and LA, Bales now offers this new EP as a balm and a mirror for listeners. 5 STAGES OF GRIEF not only captures a personal story but becomes a collective soundtrack for a generation moving through heartbreak in real time.
