AURORA shares new anime-inspired single “You Can’t Run From Yourself” for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2.
Norwegian alt-pop artist AURORA returns with a powerful new release: “You Can’t Run From Yourself (from Kaiju No. 8),” the official opening theme for Season 2 of the critically acclaimed anime series Kaiju No. 8. The single is out now via Capitol Records.
The emotionally charged track was written specifically for the show’s second season and draws heavily from the inner struggle of the protagonist Kafka Hibino. Known for her ethereal vocals and conceptual depth, AURORA channels the duality at the heart of the series into a stirring sonic statement.
AURORA explains, “‘You Can’t Run From Yourself (from Kaiju No. 8)’ was written for those who know the struggle between light and darkness, angels and demons within themselves. It’s about how hard it is to run away from the parts of ourselves that are also a part of who we are.” 
The track is featured in the show’s official Season 2 trailer “A New Threat,” which has already surpassed 1.5 million views. Season 2 premieres July 19 at 11:00 PM (JST) on TV Tokyo, with global streaming access on X.
