Zimbabwean-born, London-based pop artist Ananya returns today with her latest single, “Falling” — a vibrant, emotionally vulnerable track that dives deep into the space between desire and hesitation. Out now across digital platforms, the single is the newest step in Ananya’s genre-blending journey.
“Falling” fuses catchy, danceable pop production with lyrics that echo raw introspection. While upbeat in sound, the song’s lyrical tension is unmistakable. “It’s about timing, restraint, and the quiet ache that comes with unspoken feelings,” Ananya explains. “It’s for anyone who’s ever felt too much and said too little. I hope it feels like dancing through your own emotional chaos.”
Ananya is known for pairing personal storytelling with rich, genre-fluid production. “Falling” continues that trend, layering pop grooves with threads of melancholy and hope. The song originally debuted during a Glamour Magazine South Africa livestream at the height of the pandemic, and its early reception made a lasting impression. “I had no idea how many people would connect with it,” Ananya recalls. “The biggest challenge was keeping that rawness in the final version.” 
The track builds on the success of her debut EP i woke up one night, released in 2023. The EP crossed 1 million streams, with fan-favorites like “i feel so new” and “gone (forever)” helping to establish Ananya’s reputation as one of pop’s most honest new voices.
