Alex Wann and Shimza unite on their long-awaited collaboration, “Skill Of Love,” available now via Helix Records. After premiering the track during their B2B at Miami Music Week and in front of the Pyramids of Giza, the single makes its official debut to an eager global audience.
“Skill Of Love” is a masterclass in tension and release, showcasing both artists’ strengths in afrotech. With atmospheric layers, a hypnotic vocal loop, and uplifting piano chords contrasted by a low, whirring bassline, the track holds listeners in a captivating sonic space.
Alex Wann’s ascent began with 2023’s viral hit “Milkshake,” a summer staple supported by Diplo, Pete Tong, Carlita, and Keinemusik. His live debut in the U.S. and standout sets at Cercle and IMS Dalt Vila have placed him on the global radar. His remix work includes tracks for Adriatique & Eynka and Route 94, and his recent collab “Set Me Free” with Aaron Hibell earned a remix by CamelPhat and support from RÜFÜS DU SOL.
Shimza, a driving force in South Africa’s afrotech movement, brings a wealth of experience to the collaboration. Recent highlights include his album with Elderbrook, collaborations with Aloe Blacc and Louie Vega, and a breakout Boiler Room debut. His weekly radio show “Karma Karma” reaches over a million listeners.
