Alemeda releases ‘1-800 FK-YOU’ via Top Dawg Entertainment, Warner Records. Framed as a cheeky, no filter anthem for anyone who has been the main character in someone else’s group chat, the track pairs razor sharp delivery with zero tolerance for fakes. In doing so, Alemeda flips the script on drama, turning side eyes into a spotlight. Equal parts petty and powerful, ‘1-800 FK-YOU’ lands as a playful clapback wrapped in hot girl confidence.
Speaking on the track, Alemeda says: ““1-800-F**K-YOU” is really just about how I couldn’t care less what people think because I truly believe your haters are always your biggest fans. It’s cocky, and it’s a little petty in the cutest way.”
Calling on pop, rock, and indie sensibilities, Alemeda creates music as self expression and empowerment. The emerging Ethiopian Sudanese singer songwriter and producer first turned heads with the 2021 UK garage single ‘Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows’, which has earned over 14 million streams to date. She has since leaned into an alt pop rock muse, showcasing creative production and genre fluidity across her music. That approach comes through on the 2024 debut EP ‘FK IT’, where unfiltered emotion and compelling storytelling have helped cement her as a bold, magnetic artist to watch. The success and critical acclaim of the indie pop star’s debut project earned opening slots on tours for both Rachel Chinouriri and Halsey recently.
