Aidan Bissett releases “ricochet,” an emotionally resonant single blending indie-rock and alt-pop.
Florida-born singer-songwriter Aidan Bissett shares his latest single “ricochet,” an emotional indie-pop anthem out now via Capitol Records. Blending guitar-driven textures with alt-pop sensibility, the track captures the pain and inner conflict of letting someone toxic back into your life.
“I heavily resonate with this song — with the idea of somebody ricocheting back into your life,” says Bissett. “You’re not just on the ground getting kicked, you’re also kicking yourself.” It’s a raw admission, delivered with soaring vocals and full-band instrumentation that took over six months to perfect.
Produced by Andrew Wells (The Vaccines, Biig Piig) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Phoenix, Albert Hammond Jr.), “ricochet” balances its catchy hooks with emotional depth. The chorus is both haunting and infectious: “You ricochet back into my life / You’ve messed with my head a hundred times / So innocent but it’s just all by design.”
The single follows Bissett’s earlier 2025 release “are we in love yet?,” a synth-laced track capturing the emotional highs and lows of modern relationships. Together, the two songs showcase a new level of maturity and sonic richness as Bissett teases his forthcoming debut album.
With over 250 million global streams, a billion TikTok video views, and praise from Rolling Stone, Spotify Pop Rising, and TIDAL Magazine, Bissett has emerged as a compelling voice in the alt-pop space. He’s toured with Lauv and Valley and headlined sold-out shows around the world.
“ricochet” signals a major evolution — a fresh, honest sound for a new era of Aidan Bissett.
