Aidan Bissett is back with “are we in love yet?,” a vibrant new single marking the beginning of his next musical chapter. Released via Capitol Records, the track showcases his sharp songwriting and infectious production, setting the stage for his upcoming debut album.
Blending shimmering synths, stuttering drums, and jagged guitar riffs, “are we in love yet?” captures the emotional tension of seeking connection. Bissett explains, “‘are we in love yet?’ was a question I found myself asking anytime I had the opportunity to grow close to somebody — even if it was just a friend. Writing this song was the first step in realizing how addicted I was to finding connection in my life.”
The track was produced by Andrew Wells (The Vaccines, Biig Piig) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Albert Hammond Jr., Phoenix), adding dynamic layers to Bissett’s already polished sound. Lyrically, the song walks a fine line between playful and vulnerable, as he sings, “If I’m honest, the hardest thing to do is pretend that I’m modest.”
