Charlie Jeer shares “Sun Is Gone,” a soulful track written post-breakup with warm saxophone layers.
Charlie Jeer, the rising British-Indian singer, songwriter, and saxophonist, returns with a new emotionally charged single titled “Sun Is Gone.” Written alongside producer Ben Stancombe, the single showcases Jeer’s introspective side while highlighting his multi-instrumental talent, with all vocals and saxophone parts performed by Jeer himself.
The track follows two previous singles, “Her Eyes” and “Nobody,” the latter of which was remixed by Bloody Civilian. “Sun Is Gone” stands out for its poignant lyricism and deep sense of vulnerability, possibly tied to Jeer’s recent personal experiences.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the track, Jeer explains, “The last few years of life have been both defining and overwhelming for me. This song was written in the week after my breakup – a time when I felt like an old version of myself stuck in a new life. It is about recognising what I’ve been through both personally and publicly and my transition through that into the version of myself that is writing this now. I wanted to make a song that captured the emotion of a break up, the feeling of a day ending – stuck in darkness with the quiet optimism for a new day.”
Jeer continues to define his sound through rich storytelling, weaving jazz tones and pop structures into a narrative that reflects transition, loss, and growth.
