Sofia Camara returns with “Parking Lot,” a moving ballad that explores heartbreak and personal healing.
Pop newcomer Sofia Camara unveils her latest single “Parking Lot”, released via 21 Entertainment and Universal Music Canada, with international support from Mercury Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK. The track offers listeners an introspective look at grief and emotional release, wrapped in Camara’s unmistakable sound.
“’Parking Lot’ came from one of those moments where grief and anger blur together, and you can’t tell if you’re mad at someone or just heartbroken that they’re gone,” says Sofia Camara about the new release. “It’s about the mental gymnastics we do to protect ourselves – making someone the villain just so it’s easier to let go. This song is me owning the ugly parts of healing, the tears cried in cars, the things we say that we don’t mean, and the threads of hope we hold onto when we know something’s over. It’s messy, it’s real, it’s honest, and I think a lot of people will see a piece of themselves in this song.”
The production reunites Camara with the hit-making trio Mike Wise, Nathan Ferraro, and Lowell, who also collaborated with her on “Girls Like You” and “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent).” Notably, “Girls Like You” topped Canadian Top 40 radio adds and earned her a spot on BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop.
With over 88 million audio streams and 2 million monthly Spotify listeners, Camara’s trajectory continues upward. “Parking Lot” leads into a major festival weekend with performances at Osheaga’s main stage and Lollapalooza’s BMI stage.
