After a decade away, Jimmy Scott Free returns with a euphoric dance anthem featuring Kim English.
Marking a significant return to the UK music landscape, Jimmy Scott Free unveils his new single “Turn Back Time,” a collaboration with the late house icon Kim English. The track blends nostalgic dancefloor vibes with renewed artistic purpose, presenting a soulful anthem that celebrates rebirth and resilience.
Jimmy, originally from Southend and now splitting time between the Midlands and Barcelona, took a decade-long hiatus following early underground success. From promoting club nights at 15 to performing alongside artists like Groove Armada and Skunk Anansie, he built a name with a reggae-inspired live act alongside his brother — even winning Best Dance Track at the Exposure Music Awards in 2010.
That journey took a turn after personal and industry setbacks led to his departure from music. As Jimmy recalls:

“When my brother left the band, I lost my heart for music. But when a friend visited last year and convinced me to plug in the studio again, I haven’t stopped writing since.”
The result is “Turn Back Time,” a soaring, radio-friendly track that signals a new beginning. This single is the first in a planned series, leading up to a full-length album and possibly a revamped live performance setup with label support.
“This is a new chapter, but the fire’s still the same. I’m doing this on my own terms, but with a lot more focus this time around.”
With a simple video in production and new material on the horizon, Jimmy Scott Free reintroduces himself to the world — and this time, he’s here to stay.
