Mabel unveils her 9-track mixtape with focus track “Turn Me Up”—a bold, genre-spanning reintroduction.
Mabel has returned with a fearless statement of identity through her new self-titled mixtape, out now via Polydor Records. The project marks a new era for the BRIT Award-winning artist, combining emotional depth with genre-fluid production.
The 9-track mixtape was primarily recorded in Mabel’s home studio and includes standout collaborations such as a feature from Clavish, and production from acclaimed names like Oscar Scheller (PinkPantheress, Shygirl) and Arthur Bean (Central Cee). The focus track, “Turn Me Up,” encapsulates the spirit of the project—bold, vulnerable, and strikingly honest.
Mabel explains: “This mixtape being self-titled is an important moment for me because it feels like a reintroduction. It’s the first time since the very beginning of my career that I’ve felt this free making music and the project is a beautifully chaotic blend of all the things that make me who I am…”
“Turn Me Up” leads the way sonically with dreamy guitar textures, deep percussion, and hypnotic melodies. Produced by Oscar Scheller, it showcases a mature sound rooted in emotional reflection.
Speaking about the track, Mabel shares: “This track is definitely my favourite on the mixtape. It’s about the imperfect side of relationships and meeting your match for better or for worse!”
Featuring prior releases like “Benz” (ft. Clavish), “January 19,” and “Love Me Gentle,” the project presents a vivid self-portrait of an artist embracing her evolution.
