John K delivers honest songwriting on new album ‘SALT + LIGHT’, featuring 13 heartfelt tracks.
Singer-songwriter John K marks a pivotal chapter in his music journey with the release of his third studio album, SALT + LIGHT, now out via Epic Records. Featuring 13 tracks that dive deep into personal evolution, love, and resilience, this album reflects John’s transformation as an artist, husband, and father.
The album includes key singles like “Honey,” “River,” “Never Been In Love,” “Lost,” and the recently unveiled “Broken.” Crafted over several years with contributions from producers such as Rykeyz, Ryan Daly, Grant Boutin, and Midi Jones, SALT + LIGHT offers a compelling blend of pop and R&B with lyrics that hit close to the heart.
John explains:
“I’ve grown into becoming a father and a husband, and my music has grown with me. The goal is still timeless, story-driven songwriting, but now it’s for my wife, my family, and myself.”
Tracks like “Broken” and “Honey” show a delicate balance of vulnerability and strength, while “Lost” set the emotional tone for the project.
“You’ve found the person you can’t imagine your life without,” John shared about “Lost.” “The only way to say it is, ‘I’d be lost without you’. Musically, we’re trying to create these moments.”
The album release comes ahead of John K’s SALT + LIGHT Tour: Part 1, which kicks off July 31 in Seattle and wraps August 31 in his hometown of Orlando, FL.
“I want every word I’m singing to be believable,” John reflects. “I want to write songs you can play at your wedding and keep coming back to for the rest of your life.”
