Whitney Whitney has officially introduced her unique sound to the world with her debut EP, 1.1, out now via Atlantic Records. A project rich in cinematic textures, emotional contrasts, and raw vulnerability, the EP serves as the first in a planned series of musical “worlds” to arrive this year.
At the core of 1.1 lies Whitney’s ability to blend pop with unfiltered emotion and orchestral arrangements, offering listeners a new kind of storytelling. Her background—rooted in musical theatre, classical influences, and early songwriting—shapes each track into something deeply layered yet effortlessly accessible.
The new single “Touching You” leads the project, released alongside a visualizer now streaming on YouTube. In the song, Whitney explores imagined vulnerability through elegant lyricism and playful melody.
“‘Touching You’ is a song about falling in love again. And it’s funny, I wrote it when I was in a place nowhere near to being in love with anyone. So single actually. But I wanted to channel what it must feel like…”
Whitney spoke about the process of creating 1.1 with clear passion:
