EthanUno drops playful alt-pop single “ESPEJO” featuring dreamy keys and fairytale metaphors.
EthanUno returns with another vibrant offering in the form of “ESPEJO,” a colorful bilingual track that fuses alt-pop, R&B, and electronic textures. Out now via Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope, the single continues his genre-bending streak, following the release of the necesidad EP in January.
Written, produced, and performed entirely by EthanUno, “ESPEJO” is a playful yet emotionally layered track. Its sugary sound, composed of light keys, fuzzy bass, and dreamy synths, contrasts with lyrics that toy with themes of deception and heartbreak.
EthanUno taps into fairytale symbolism, mixing charm and bite: “Baby, si me mientes, seré tu espejo” (“Baby, if you lie to me, I’ll be your mirror”), he warns. He drives the metaphor home with, “Mirror mirror on the wall, you the baddest of them all / Your body hot, your heart is cold, I think it’s time we called it off.”
Reflecting on his creative process, EthanUno shares, “With ‘ESPEJO’ I was just tryna write the dumbest song I could. Like, dumb enough to make me laugh. It honestly could have been even dumber, but I ain’t even mad. There are more songs to be written!”
This single follows a steady stream of releases: May’s “EL CAPARAZÓN” transported fans from bedroom beats to beach vibes, while April’s “MALA MÍA” leaned into reggaetón with bittersweet emotions.
From self-made visuals to his hands-on production style, EthanUno’s DIY spirit drives his consistent evolution. As he noted in a past interview, “I’m huge on capturing the entire feeling of the song and its release while it still feels fresh; it’s like serving food while it’s still hot.”
