Beks’ debut EP ‘Hard Gloss’ lands with dancefloor-ready energy and fearless emotional honesty.
Australian-born artist Beks unleashes her debut EP Hard Gloss—a dynamic fusion of club-pop and personal storytelling. Known for her high-energy performances and empowering presence, Beks introduces a fresh sound with confidence and charisma.
Following a sold-out Camden Assembly gig and appearances at London’s Mighty Hoopla, she drops Hard Gloss alongside new single Who You Kidding, offering fans an electrifying dive into her evolving artistry.
The five-track EP merges raw emotions with stylized production, guided by producer PALMR. With Tim Rowkins on mixing (Rina Sawayama, Lady Gaga) and Robin Schmidt mastering (Charli XCX), the sound is polished yet deeply personal.
“I’d spent so much time writing for and with others, I needed to find my own voice again. There was no safety net this time. Just me, backing myself. ‘Hard Gloss’ is what came out of that,” shares Beks.
Lead single Who You Kidding is pulsing with electro-pop energy, drawing comparisons to Kylie Minogue and Kim Petras, and exploring themes of self-truth and emotional vulnerability.
“It’s the sound of high-voltage empowerment. Part of it was written under a rusty umbrella on my manager’s balcony in the middle of a lightning storm in London. I dropped all creative filters and let the truth drive the song. That bridge? It’s my proudest moment,” says Beks.
With additional tracks like I Knew A Girl, Butter, and Melodrama, Beks delivers a project that’s both heartfelt and danceable—marking her arrival as a voice of fearless expression.
